Porcelain & Sandstone Patios in Chelmsford & Essex

New patios designed, laid and finished by a family firm that’s been doing it since 1997.

A Patio Done Properly

A good patio should be level, drain well and still look good in ten years. That comes down to the groundwork: a solid sub-base, the right fall away from the house and every slab properly bedded.

Garrat learnt tiling and slab laying at Topps Tiles, and as a family we’ve been laying patios across Essex for years. We take the same care over a small seating area as we do over a full garden.

Porcelain or Natural Stone?

Porcelain is hard-wearing, low maintenance and doesn’t stain easily. It needs a slurry primer and the right cutting kit to lay well, which is where experience counts.

Sandstone and other natural stone give a softer, more traditional look and suit older houses and cottage gardens.

Can’t decide? Have a read of our guide to porcelain or sandstone patios, or we’ll bring samples on the site visit.

More Than Just Slabs

We can take care of the whole garden, including steps, raised borders, walls, fencing and turf, so it all works together. Have a look at our landscaping and fencing pages for more.
