Built to Last From the Ground Up
A block paving driveway is only as good as what’s underneath it. We dig out to the right depth, put down a properly compacted sub-base and get the levels and falls right, so water runs where it should and not towards your house.
That’s the part you never see once it’s finished, and it’s the part a lot of cheaper jobs skip. It’s why our driveways stay flat and tidy for years.
What’s Included
- Digging out and taking away the old surface and soil
- A compacted MOT Type 1 sub-base
- Edging kerbs or a contrasting border
- Laying, cutting and jointing the blocks
- Drainage channels where they’re needed
- A full clean-up when we’re done

Planning and Drainage
Most driveways don’t need planning permission. If a new front driveway is over five square metres though, it has to be permeable or drain onto your own garden rather than the road. We’ll make sure yours meets the rules.
If you need a new dropped kerb, that has to be applied for through Essex Highways and done by one of their approved contractors. We’ll work around their timetable so the driveway is ready when the kerb goes in.
